MSW (MASTER IN SOCIAL WORK)


INTRODUCTION:

The work carried by skilled people to look up the conditions of the people who are poor, old etc. is known as Social work. MSW is a branch of study which deals with training individuals in the field of social work. It is one of the noblest professions which are looked forward for the benefit of others.

Objective:

The main aim of MSW is to develop unselfish traits among the candidates. The candidate pursuing MSW are taught the various problems faced by humans across the globe. They are also taught the ways of tackling these unfavorable situations. The students are taught the various social work theories and principles.

The student of MSW has a personality of their own. The candidates are taught to be patient and deal with complex situations efficiently. There are many other specialized and educational skills that are also taught to the individuals pursuing MSW.

Course Outlook:

Correspondence course in MSW and a classroom program in MSW are exactly same in structure and contents. The only difference lies in the class contact hours. A correspondence in MSW offers a bit less of practical training as compared to the classroom program. But MSW is such a subject which mainly depends on the individual’s personal skills of identifying and helping people in need.

The duration of correspondence course in MSW generally depends on the institute from which the individual is pursuing the course. In general, the course is of 2-3 year duration. The student is provided study material to complete the course. Examinations are scheduled two to four times a year at specific centers across India.

Eligibility:

For doing a correspondence MSW, the student must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. For doing a course in MSW, more emphasis is given on the profile of the candidate. If the candidate has not done well academically but has a good personal record of social service then he is considered eligible for the course.

The final acceptance to the course is taken after conforming that the candidate does not have any sort of criminal records.

BCA (BACHELOR IN COMPUTER APPLICATION)


INTRODUCTION:

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a course which is nowadays gaining lots of height among the student of India and abroad. A student can also enter this course by giving the Common Entrance Exam (CET) in their respective states. Some of the important colleges where Online BCA course is taught are IGNOU (Delhi), Dr. C.V. Raman University (Bilaspur), Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research etc.

This BCA comprehensive programme on one hand trains the students in the latest information Technology (IT) field and on the other provides them a platform for pursuing further post-graduate programmes in any university. ELIGIBILITY:

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

People intending to work as WSH coordinators under the WSH Act, factory occupiers, employers, occupational safety and health personnel and those interested in occupational safety and health.

ASSUMED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

The applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident or holder of a valid employment pass/work permit; and

• Achieved ESS Workplace Literacy (WPL) Assessments (Listening, Reading, Speaking & Writing) level 5 or holder of GCE ‘N’ Level English grade 5 & Mathematics grade  5; AND

• Possessed WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH or preferably 3 years of working experience in WSH; AND

• BCSS or ESS - WSH (supervisory level).

Applicants to submit the following documents for registration:


            a) Copy of GCE “N” Level Result/ ESS WPL Result
            b) A letter on your employment status and details
            c) Copy of Work Permit or Employment Pass (for foreigners)
            d) Copy of BCSS or ESS – WSH (supervisory level).

Venue:         BCA Academy, 200 Braddell Road
Duration:      126 Training hours spread over about 6 months
Frequency:     1 - 2 evenings per week
               (some lessons may also fall on full Saturdays)
Time:          6.30pm - 9.30pm (evening),
               8.30am - 5.30pm (Saturday)

ATTENDANCE:

Every candidate shall have to attend minimum 75% classes in all theory and practical. No claim shall be entertained if the attendance is less than 60% and the candidature may be detained or even terminated.

DISCIPLINE:

The students are expected to maintain strict discipline and order in and out of campus. All the students will be governed by the rules, ordinance and regulations framed by the university and amendments effected from time to time.

EXAMINATIONS:

The University solely conducts The Examinations. For BCA course the university follows the semester pattern. Minimum 40% marks are necessary per individual subjects. However the overall aggregate marks must be at least 45% so as to pass. The examination shall be based on given syllabus, which may be modified from time to time as per requirements, so as to keep it more updated.

BCA is a computer related course. The course mainly is focused on software, computer languages and subjects related to computer application. The students have to study lot and remain updated with the growing technologies and modification in the computer system and upcoming computer languages.
